Popular sailing times for the event are:

Cherbourg to Poole (dep. 11.07.11 22:30hrs - arr. 12.07.11 06:30hrs local time)

Poole to Cherbourg (dep. 23.07.11 12:30hrs - arr. 23.07.11 17:45hrs local time)

 

 

Dover to Portland  4+ hours (210 miles / 340km).

The route is via busy motorways, journey times depend on the “rush hour” / traffic density - M20/M26  M25/M3  M3/M27  junctions

Calais - Dover ferries operate a regular daily service, many departures & 1.5hrs crossing time.

Dunkerque - Dover (Norfolkline) ferry - dozen departures daily  & 2hrs crossing time.

Night time ferries on all routes tend to be the cheaper option (reduced onboard facilities).
